It's a place to get in out of the weather. Restaurant next door has great food though.
It has beds that seemed to be clean. It has running water. It has a roof. It has wi-fi. If these are your criteria for a place to stay while traveling through WV, then Thompson's can't be beat. I stayed here for one night while doing some fall sightseeing on the motorcycle and was 100% satisfied. The place has all the essentials, felt completely safe, and the staff are friendly and competent. I recommend getting dinner at the Fireside Cafe next door, provided you're not in a hurry.
We always stay at the Thompson motel and they've always been good to us
Staid here this past thanksgiving with my bestfriend. Rooms were clean. Water was good. People were extremely nice. Had a great time. Dogs are allowed in the smoking rooms. Which I got because I had my dog. The staff loved her. Thanks for the stay !
Delightfully friendly & helpful staff. But it seems that's just how folks from this area are in my experience.
